WHEN SHOULD I CONTACT YOU ABOUT CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS?

Ideally, the custom wedding invitation process should begin at least four months before your invitations need to be mailed. This allows enough time for the creative process, edits and revisions, and printing time. Because my custom project calendar tends to fill up rather quickly, especially in popular wedding months, the earlier you contact me, the better! I would rather have more than enough time than rush to complete your order.

HOW MUCH DO YOUR CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS COST?

The majority of Ten Four Paper custom wedding invitations begin at $7 per invitation and range upwards of $14-20 per invitation. The average price is usually in the $10 per invitation range. There are four main components to pricing:

  1. Design Services
  2. Printing
  3. Envelopes & Paper Choice
  4. Ribbon or Paper Wraps & Embellishments

Design Service Fees are non-negotiable and vary depending on the scale and complexity of your project. Pricing is very project-specific and changes depending on the details of your design and the amount of pieces involved.

Pricing includes a selection of 3 custom design concepts, 2 rounds of revisions, and management of paper and printer needs. Printing methods, paper choices, wraps, embellishments, sizes and quantities all affect invitation prices. These items have a variety of options and can be altered to fit most budgets.

You are responsible for the postage involved with your invitations, including the postage for the outer mailing envelope and your reply card. It is important to note that square envelopes require more postage than rectangular envelopes, and postcards are more affordable to mail than envelopes for your reply cards.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS?

After our initial consultation, a full price quote will be provided to you prior to beginning the design process. Once you accept the estimate, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin design work. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the printed materials.

At this stage, it is important for you to provide me with wording and any other information you want to include on printed pieces. It is easiest to send me a Word Document with copy for each piece. Please make sure to double-check spelling and grammar! Sample wording is available upon request.

I will then create at least 3 different design concepts for your invitations. These options will be carefully thought out and constructed based on our conversations and my understanding of the visual style of your event.

Once you receive the initial design options, you have up to three weeks to make a final decision and choose which style you would like to continue with. Tweaks and edits are always possible, however, I need timely feedback in order to effectively work within your mailing deadlines. Communication is important!

When the main invitation design has been selected from the options presented, the style and design will be extended throughout other printed materials. For the main invitation and subsequent pieces, 2 rounds of revisions are included in the pricing. Type changes, small color tweaks or other small design changes are included. Any major changes after the first 2 revisions will be subject to an additional hourly design fee.

HOW DO I PROOF MY INVITATIONS PRIOR TO PRINTING?

You will receive a final PDF proof to review prior to printing. It is your responsibility to carefully check spelling and grammar. Ten Four Paper cannot be held liable for spelling, grammatical, typographical, or layout errors once you sign off on the final proof. If reprinting is required, it is the full responsibility of the client to cover the cost of additional printing and labor. If you wish to see a press proof, please let me know and I can make that happen, however it may delay the printing of your order. Otherwise, I work with our printers to ensure color matching and print quality at press checks.

DO YOU ASSEMBLE THE INVITATIONS FOR ME?

Invitation assembly is not included in the standard design fees. Ten Four Paper will ensure you understand how to properly assemble your printed pieces into the final invitation package. If you require assistance assembling and/or mailing all of your invitations, this service is available for an additional fee.

YES! My custom designs and invitations are not limited to weddings! I have done a variety of fun paper products for birthday parties, wedding and baby showers, baby announcements, holiday cards and more! If you want to celebrate something and need fun paper, don’t hesitate to contact me.
