Nothing is more fun and intimidating than designing the wedding stationery for your own wedding. Especially when all of your friends and family know you are a designer and expect something awesome! The stationery suite for my own wedding was one of my favorite projects ever, and kind of the beginning of this little business!
My Save the Dates featured a typographic love story of how Matt and I came to be. We have quite a long history, and I wanted both sides of our family to know the whole story, and get excited for our big day. The design was a trifold printed on shimmery paper, wrapped in handmade embossed paper. The story captured our personalities perfectly, and set the tone for the entire suite.
I used a dark metallic gray pochette to hold all of the pieces to our invitation. I used the same laid-back typographic style as our Save the Dates, and also continued the fun pattern printed on the back of those through the invitation suite. The invitation suite was held together in the pocket by the same lime green handmade paper.
The typographic details and design were carried through to the day-of stationery, including story-like programs similar to the save the dates. Guests also had individual flowers with custom escort tags and menus at the reception site. Our cake stand even had the pattern on the tiers!
My wedding day to my best friend was perfect, and it was fun to design something for myself that reflected our personalities and the most special day of our lives!
